Richland beat Minnesota on the strength of starter Barney Starr's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 7-1 win. Earning his 2nd save for Richland was Matt Crowley. The Rails are now 60-40, while the Loons fall to 46-54.

Mike Gillespie was a key contributor to the win for the Rails. In the top of the fourth with one out, the light-hitting center fielder stroked a home run to right. He went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Starr, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
