Sixshooters Take Tight Tilt
|
The Westwood Sixshooters relied on the hitting of first baseman Alonso Zamora to stop the Myrtle Beach Mermen, 4-3. For the game, Zamora went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Westwood reliever Esteban García picked up the win, upping his record to 6-1. Gregory Bahena took the loss. Earning his 19th save for Westwood was Christian Clayton.
Zamora had a key at-bat for Westwood early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and gave Westwood an early 2-0 lead.
In comments to the Westwood Bulletin, Zamora insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
Even with the win, the Westwood Sixshooters have a dismal 32-62 record.
