Hops Beat Fur Traders, 6-1
|
The Yakima Hops went home winners at Ballpark of Tacoma, thanks in large part to starter Miguel Cabañas. Cabañas silenced the Tacoma Fur Traders, enabling Yakima to grab the 6-1 win. Yakima is now 54-39, Tacoma 48-45.
The Yakima win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, José Ángel. In the top of the second, the Yakima shortstop came to bat and hit a run-scoring triple. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a pretty good chance to win the game," said Ángel.
