Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Hops
|
The Yakima Hops picked up a win at Hops Park, knocking off the Lancaster Farmers, 6-3. On the mound for Yakima was left-hander Emílio Mavarro, who played a pivotal role in the win. Yakima reliever Pieter Spitsbaard was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Raúl Nieto took the loss. The current losing streak for Lancaster has reached 4 games.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Yakima trailing 3-2, Pedro Tapia jumped on a 1-0 fastball from Raúl Nieto for a grand slam home run, sending the Hops to a walk-off win.
