Sixshooters Fall Short at Minnesota
Westwood got a terrific performance from pitcher Will Moore, but it wasn't enough to beat the Minnesota Loons. Minnesota won the Sixshooters Stadium contest, 3-1. Moore was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. Minnesota starter Ramón Martínez was credited with the win after throwing 102 pitches over 9 innings. His record now stands at 5-8. José Marroquín closed the door for Minnesota, picking up his 10th save of the year.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, Nathaniel Griffin hit a 1-0 fastball from Christian Clayton for a 2-run double. It put Minnesota in front, 3-1.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Griffin.

The Loons move to 41-42 with the win, while the Sixshooters drop to 26-57.
