With center fielder Jorge Echevarría leading the charge, the Minnesota Loons defeated the Yakima Hops, 5-1, at Loony Bin. Echevarría, who was drafted in the two round of the 2028 draft, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Horatio McAllister earned the win to go to 6-6. He allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. The 5th-place Loons lifted their record to 39-40.
In the bottom of the third, Minnesota first baseman António Zúñiga had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and two outs, Zúñiga stroked a 2-run home run to right-center. It made the score 2-0, Minnesota. For the game, he went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Echevarría told the Minnesota Herald.
