Loons Fall Short, 3-2, at Richland
|
The Richland Rails scored a 3-2 win versus the Minnesota Loons at Rails Ballpark. Richland pitcher Barney Starr nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Jorge Mejía converted his 20th save in 21 tries. The Rails bumped their record to 45-31 with this latest triumph.
Christian Gentry had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Rails. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Richland trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.
"We take it day by day here," said Starr, "and today was a good one for us."
