The Myrtle Beach Mermen and Yakima Hops brought some excitement to Tennille Grounds.
A 4-RBI performance from center fielder Jud Regan led the Yakima Hops to a 7-3 win over the Myrtle Beach Mermen. Yakima reliever Chris Lynskey picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. David Gómez took the loss. Mark Poirer, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Yakima took the lead in the top of the sixth when Regan hit a grand slam home run. His 4th home run made the score 7-3, Yakima.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Yakima manager Craig Walters.
The Hops improved to 41-30.
