Spirited fans at Farmers Field greeted the Lancaster Farmers for their clash with the Minnesota Loons.

The Lancaster Farmers got a sterling performance from pitcher Mike Brandner, but the Loons still prevailed, 5-2. Brandner was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Homer Robertson picked up the save for Minnesota, his 3rd of the year.

One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth. That's when Gareth Monahan hit a 2-run single. The Loons went on to win.

"I thought we played a nice game," Monahan told the Minnesota Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

Their 34-36 record puts the Loons 6th in the Silver AA.
