Hops Suffer 7-6 Setback

The Durham Rapiers topped the Yakima Hops, 7-6, with António Díaz playing a big role. Díaz went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI for the Rapiers in the win. The winner was Durham reliever Cecil Beijeman, now 1-1. The loser was Rodrigo Sandoval. Getting the save was Briggs Bourgeois, his 21st.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Díaz. In the top of the seventh inning, when the Rapiers were trailing 5-4, Díaz delivered a two-out 2-run single for Durham, giving his team the lead.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Díaz.
The first-place Rapiers have a one-game lead in their division.
