Blue Sox Pin 4-1 Loss on Sixshooters
|
The Irving Blue Sox did just enough to secure a 4-1 victory over the Westwood Sixshooters at Blue Sox Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Anastasio Enríquez, who captured player of the game honors. Enríquez went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-3. Rewa Malaki closed it out for his 1st save.
One impactful at-bat came in the bottom of the fourth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the batter, John Clayton, hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 1-0, Irving, and helped them go on to win.
Enríquez told a Irving Observer reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
The Blue Sox now have a record of 33-30 with the win over Westwood.
