Gillespie Helps Rails Run Win Streak to 3
The Richland Rails knocked off the Tacoma Fur Traders, 7-2, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Mike Gillespie, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Richland won. The left fielder was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Gary Kellenberger was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Richland is 29-26 and Tacoma, with the loss, 32-23.

Gillespie came through with some timely hitting for Richland. With the score 2-1 in the top of the fourth and no one down, Gillespie hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season -- and a big reason the Rails managed to win.
