Richardson City got a terrific performance from first baseman Tomás Martínez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Wizarding Express. Wizarding won the Platform 9 3/4 contest, 4-3. Martínez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs. Dan Mitchell got the win, improving to 1-0. António Martínez had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for the Express. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Wizarding trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run double.

Martínez called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
