Sixshooters Squelch Lancaster Offense in Shutout Win
|
Westwood starter Nam Yee Yong had a strong outing against the Lancaster Farmers at Sixshooters Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-0 win. Yong, now 1-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs. Getting the save was Kevin Samuels, his 1st.
In the bottom of the third, Alonso Zamora had a big 2-run single off Sergio Zamora. With the single, the Westwood first baseman put his team in front, 2-0. He was 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the contest.
"Nice to get this one," said Yong. "Wins have been hard to come by."
The Sixshooters, at 14-34, sit in last place in the Silver AA.
