Piranhas Saddle Express with 12-6 Loss
|
Juan Jose Ayala was instrumental in his team's 12-6 triumph over the Wizarding Express. The shortstop was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Panama City Piranhas. Panama City reliever Edgardo Nava picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Dorian Daly shouldered the loss. Panama City now sits in first place in the Premier League at 27-17.
In the bottom of the 6th, second baseman Raúl Ortíz gave Panama City the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Piranhas had been trailing 6-4, but the two-out home run off Wizarding pitcher Dorian Daly changed that -- and Panama City went on to win.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Panama City manager Brian Talamante.
