Yakima Hops starter Brian Walker turned in a top-notch performance against the Irving Blue Sox at Hops Park. The result was a win for the Hops, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Walker, now 4-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Earning his 6th save for Yakima was Mariano Martínez.

A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the third inning when the Hops sent teenager Colin O'Connell to the plate against Blue Sox hurler Ernst Chia. With a runner on 1st and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a triple off a 1-1 fastball to score 1.

"I like our moxie," said Yakima Hops manager Craig Walters.

Yakima is in third place in the Silver AA with a record of 28-18.
