Yakima Hops starter Israel Arant was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Richland Rails, 6-2. The third-place Hops have won 5 in a row.

Tied up with the Rails in the bottom of the fourth, the Hops got a boost from shortstop Luis Rodríguez. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Rodríguez saw a 1-1 fastball from Hartmann Riedman and hit a run-scoring double to break the stalemate and put Yakima on top, 1-0.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Yakima manager Craig Walters.
