Fur Traders Get One-Run Win at Minnesota
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders picked up a win at Loony Bin, knocking off the Minnesota Loons, 3-2. Starting pitcher Dorian Roberts played a key role in the triumph. Roberts got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Roberts allowed 1 earned run. Baker Mayfield earned the save for Tacoma, his 5th of the year.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth. That's when Tim Lehman, who is tied for 10th in the SAA in RBI with 15, hit a run-scoring single. The Fur Traders went on to win.
Roberts told the Tacoma Herald: "I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more.' You win just by scoring more runs."
With the win, the Fur Traders have a record of 19-11.
