Blue Sox Stymie Westwood, Take 6-1 Win
|
Fans who gathered at Sixshooters Stadium saw a good contest between the Irving Blue Sox and Westwood Sixshooters.
The Irving Blue Sox did just enough to secure a 6-1 victory over the Westwood Sixshooters at Sixshooters Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Alfonso Dolton, who captured player of the game honors. Dolton picked up the win for Irving, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0.
Lúcio Gonzáles was a key contributor to the win for the Blue Sox. In the top of the second with two out, the light-hitting third baseman stroked a double to left-center. He went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Gonzáles told the Irving Observer.
The Irving Blue Sox have an impressive 18-10 record.
