Phil MacNamara made an impact in the 4-2 Irving win over Lancaster. MacNamara, who is tied for 5th in the SAA in total bases with 35, went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Irving reliever Willie Simmons was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Woody Hudson took the loss. The Farmers, at 5-14, have stumbled out of the gate.
Irving grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the sixth, when MacNamara, who is tied for 5th in the SAA with a .507 slugging percentage, hit a 2-run home run. His 4th home run put the Blue Sox out in front, 3-1.
"Enjoyed this one," MacNamara told the Irving Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
