Loss Extends Bethesda Losing Streak
|
The Minnesota Loons did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Bethesda Atoms at Loony Bin. Nobody did more than pitcher Bartolo Ruíz, who captured player of the game honors. José Juárez earned the save for Minnesota, his 2nd of the year. The Atoms, at 4-12, have stumbled out of the gate.
José Mercado aided the Minnesota cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the pinch hitter drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Ruíz said.
