Fur Traders Continue Hot Start to Season with Win
|
The inspired effort of Minnesota center fielder Jorge Echevarría was not enough to prevent a 7-4 loss to the Tacoma Fur Traders. Echevarría went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Brewster Warble was the winning pitcher. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Justin Barber got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Britt Lynch, who leads the SAA in home runs with 3, aided the Tacoma cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"If we keep winning the close games" said Lynch, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
The Tacoma Fur Traders, now 9-4, have been playing some good baseball.
