Reyes Goes 5-for-6
|
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Jorge Reyes got one today. He scattered hits all over Sixshooters Stadium to pace Myrtle Beach to a 12-0 victory over Westwood.
The Westwood skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Reyes hit several that he is not supposed to hit."
Jorge Reyes singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far this year Reyes has hit .429 with no home runs and 4 RBIs.
