Blue Sox Sneak Past Atoms, 5-4

Bartolo Rosas did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Bethesda Atoms from losing, 5-4, to the Irving Blue Sox at Atoms Field. Rosas went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Blue Sox, with just their 2nd win so far in 2028, have yet to catch fire.
Late in the game, designated hitter Eisse Cals had a big at-bat for Irving. In the top of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Dan Drew. The play gave the Blue Sox a 5-4 lead.
Cals told the Irving Observer: "I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more.' You win just by scoring more runs."
