Crowds lined up early in front of Rails Ballpark, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2028 USSL Double A season. On the mound were Roosevelt Guimond for the visiting Westwood Sixshooters and Dale Hamilton for the hometown Richland Rails. In a spirited contest, the Rails pulled out the win, defeating the Sixshooters by the score of 4-2. Earning player of the game honors was Alexandre Keeping. Jorge Mejía closed the game out for Richland, earning his 1st save.

With Richland leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Keeping hit a forkball from Roosevelt Guimond for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Rails ahead, 4-0.

"This was a good win," said Keeping.
