The exploits of first baseman Orlando Velásquez, who is tied for 10th in the 3AAA in home runs with 12, helped the Brinkley Belugas defeat the Scranton Supernovas, 12-1. Velásquez was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. With the win, the Belugas improved to 41-51.

Velásquez came through with some timely hitting for Brinkley. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth and no one down, Velásquez hit a 0-2 curveball for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season -- and a big reason the Belugas managed to win.
