Doubledays Get One-Run Win at Scranton
|
Pitcher Josef Strolz was sensational for the Tremont Doubledays in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Scranton Supernovas. Strolz received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. The winning pitcher was Strolz, now 2-5. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. The Doubledays saw their win-loss record go to 38-46. At the same time, the Supernovas fall to 41-43.
In the top of the fifth, Tremont left fielder Carlos González had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, González stroked a bases-clearing double to left. It made the score 4-0, Tremont. For the game, he went 1-5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"I had pretty much everything working," said Strolz.
