The Brinkley Belugas and Hialeah Dodos played a tight game at Dodos Ballpark, with the visitors getting the hard-fought win.
The Belugas took Hialeah pitcher Bob Warford's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Dodos Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Warford went 6.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. Brinkley reliever Glen Holland was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Travis Grant. Bob Roth earned the save, his 17th, for the Belugas.
Steve Jones contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the third. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he drew a walk. It was one at-bat that helped Brinkley get the win.
In postgame remarks, Jones said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
Brinkley is in 10th place in the Menard's AAA with a record of 36-47.
