Supernovas Win at Tremont, 9-4
|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Dong-po Tien, the Scranton Supernovas defeated the Tremont Doubledays, 9-4. Tien went 2-2 with a double and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Supernovas. Victor Brey earned the win to go to 7-4. He allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Scranton is now 40-42, Tremont 37-45.
In the top of the second, Kent Summey hit a 2-run double for Scranton. The 17th double of the season for the Scranton shortstop put the Supernovas on top, 2-0.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Henry Russell said.
