Supernovas Stick Men with 3-1 Loss
|
The Scranton Supernovas got a magnificent performance from pitcher Luis Zaragoza, who muffled the Florida offense en route to a tight 3-1 Supernovas win at Nuclear Stadium. The winning pitcher was Zaragoza, now 7-6. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Frank Bryant nailed down his 4th save.
The Supernovas got a big at-bat from Alonso Solís. For the game, Solís went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 12th double of the season gave Scranton a 2-1 lead.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Scranton manager Henry Russell.
The Supernovas now have a record of 38-40 with the win over Florida.
