Velásquez Hits 2 home runs in Belugas Win
|
The Tremont Doubledays were defeated, 5-3, by the Brinkley Belugas. Leading the charge for Brinkley was shortstop Orlando Velásquez. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Brinkley reliever Glen Holland picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Alejandro Ramos absorbed the loss. The Belugas improve their record to 33-40 with the win over Tremont.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the third, when Velásquez hit a 2-run home run. The Belugas went on to win.
"We did a lot of things right," said Velásquez.
