Timber Hawks Raise Rally Flag, Beat Florida, 4-2
|
The Augusta Timber Hawks picked up a win at Timber Hawks Ballpark, knocking off the Florida Men, 4-2. On the mound for Augusta was left-hander Roy Alsobrook, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win was credited to Cornelius Bigelow in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Jeremy de Vos took the loss. Augusta now has a 3-game win streak.
Dinis Marcha was the walk-off hero for Augusta. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Augusta pinch hitter hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Marcha. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
