Big Day for Maldonado as Golden Cranes Down Fighting Dachsunds, 8-5
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes eventually prevailed at Dog Park in Ellenburg.
A 3-RBI performance from right fielder Daniel Maldonado, who is rated as the 38th best prospect by BNN, led the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes to a 8-5 win over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds. Henri Pollini picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-0. He struck out 8 in 8 innings.
With Santa Barbara leading 3-1 in the top of the fourth, Maldonado hit a fastball from Severiano Duclos for a 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Golden Cranes ahead, 6-1.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Maldonado.
The Golden Cranes move to 37-31 with the win, while the Fighting Dachsunds drop to 39-29.
