Timber Hawks Squelch Bloomington Offense in Shutout Win
|
Soto never let Bloomington get something going. The Augusta right-hander commanded his change up in pitching the Timber Hawks to a win. The winning pitcher was Soto, now 1-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Cornelius Bigelow notched his 2nd save in 4 chances.
Also having an impact was left fielder António Serrano, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth for Augusta. For the game, Serrano went 2 for 3 with a double.
"This was a good win," said Soto.
