Coyotes Fall Short, 11-3, at Ellenburg
|
The Hamilton Coyotes and Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds provided some drama at Dog Park in Ellenburg.
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds relied on the hitting of first baseman José Vázquez to stop the Hamilton Coyotes, 11-3. For the game, Vázquez went 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Daniel Riley, credited with the win, is now 3-4. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits in 7.2 innings.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh. That's when Roy Bowman drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Fighting Dachsunds went on to win.
Vázquez told the Ellenburg Chronicle: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
The Fighting Dachsunds improved to 30-25.
