Red Pandas Win at Scranton, 7-2
|
The exploits of center fielder Jorge Díaz, who is tied for 10th in the 3AAA in stolen bases with 12, helped the Sioux Falls Red Pandas defeat the Scranton Supernovas, 7-2. Díaz was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. The Red Pandas, at 19-33, sit in last place in the Menard's AAA.
The Red Pandas beat the Supernovas in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Joe Sutton produced in the top of the fourth. Batting against Scranton pitcher Pedro Rodríguez, he gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Sioux Falls Red Pandas manager Barry Embling.
