|
Bloomington turned a good effort from starter Giovanni Mireles into a win over the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes at Crane Field. The final score was 2-0. Mireles, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. The first-place Longnecks have won 4 straight games.
It could have been a different outcome for Bloomington, had it not been for Shahid Afridi, the 21-year old center fielder . Afridi contributed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put Bloomington up, 1-0.
