Supernovas Continue Skid, Thanks to Payling, Longnecks
|
The exploits of center fielder Chris Payling, who is tied for 8th in the 3AAA with a .425 on-base percentage, helped the Bloomington Longnecks defeat the Scranton Supernovas, 9-1. Payling went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The current losing streak for Scranton has reached 4 games.
The Longnecks got a big at-bat from Eddie Ménard. For the game, Ménard went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Bloomington a 2-0 lead.
