Both teams had their chances, but the Brinkley Belugas eventually prevailed at Nuclear Stadium.
Marcos Deleón helped his team muscle past the Scranton Supernovas, 9-6. In the game, the Brinkley designated hitter was 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Brinkley reliever Bob Roth picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Apollo Cepeda absorbed the loss. Carlos Padrón finished the game for Brinkley and earned his 1st save.
Parker Smith had the most critical at-bat for Brinkley, coming in the top of the tenth inning with one out and runners on 1st and 2nd. Smith hit a full count fastball from Apollo Cepeda for a run-scoring double. It put Brinkley in front, 7-6.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Smith.
The Belugas improved to 13-13.
