Fighting Dachsunds Fall Short at Santa Barbara
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes beat the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 5-3, in 11 innings. Santa Barbara first baseman Gilbert Graham merited player of the game honors with his performance. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Santa Barbara reliever Víctor Torres was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Garrett Harrington. Santa Barbara is now 16-6, 2½ games up in the Menard's AAA.
Rodney Usry's hit in the top of the 11th was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Garrett Harrington for a 2-run double. It put Santa Barbara in front, 5-3.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Santa Barbara manager William Franklin.
