Dodos Nip Men, 5-4
|
The Hialeah Dodos picked up a win at Psychos Ballpark, knocking off the Florida Men, 5-4. Starting pitcher Lucas Begay, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 7 innings, Begay surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Pat McCormick earned the save for Hialeah, his 1st of the year.
Also making an impact was second baseman Armando García, who drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth for Hialeah. For the game, García went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I was a little disappointed," said Florida manager . "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The loss lowers the record for Florida to 10-9.
