Fighting Dachsunds Topple Humpbacks with Late Rally
|
The Fighting Dachsunds had to overcome a good performance from Alaskan pitcher Neil Franson to claim a 4-3 win at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Franson went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Ellenburg reliever José Tovar picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Andrew Webster was saddled with the loss. The save went to An Jang-Yop, his 1st this season.
Ellenburg grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Gonzalo Sánchez delivered a 2-run double, to make it 4-2 in favor of the Fighting Dachsunds.
In comments to the Ellenburg Chronicle, Sánchez admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
The Humpbacks fall to 6-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2028 season.
