Hot Start Continues for Golden Cranes

Santa Barbara overcame a superlative game from José Hernández to beat Florida, 6-4. The Florida right fielder took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Júlio Martínez earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. Víctor Torres earned the save for Santa Barbara, his 4th.
It could have been a different outcome for Santa Barbara, had it not been for Daniel Maldonado, the speedster . Maldonado contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Santa Barbara up, 6-4.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Maldonado.
It was the 7th win in 10 games this year for the defending champion Golden Cranes, who are picking up where they left off.
