The Scranton Supernovas beat the Brinkley Belugas, 7-1, at Belugas Ballpark. Scranton second baseman Kent Summey earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. The win moves Scranton to a record of 3-2.
It could have been a different outcome for Scranton, had it not been for Senior Pond, the 24-year old center fielder . Pond contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Scranton up, 1-0.
In postgame remarks, Pond said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
