Longnecks Topple Coyotes with Late Rally
|
The Bloomington Longnecks topped the Hamilton Coyotes, 8-6, in M3L Triple A action at Lookouts Ballpark. The player of the game was Bloomington pitcher Logan Gregory. Bloomington reliever Logan Gregory got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Albert Días was tagged with the loss. The win pushes Bloomington to a record of 2-2.
In the bottom of the 8th, pinch hitter Mark Smiley gave Bloomington the lead when he hit a grand slam home run. The Longnecks had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out home run off Hamilton pitcher Norberto Flores changed that -- and Bloomington went on to win.
"Enjoyed this one," Gregory told the Bloomington Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
