BC Clip Bowties in Tight Contest
|
The Philadelphia 1776 BC trumped the Buckhead Bowties, 6-4, at 5 Paces Park. Philadelphia 1776 catcher John Schnatter was named player of the game for his performance. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Philadelphia 1776 reliever Bill Maddox got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Frank Walker was tagged with the loss. At 18-15, the BC are currently 4th in the Third League.
The most important at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Frank Walker threw a first pitch fastball to Schnatter, which he hit to left for a 2-run single. It put Philadelphia 1776 in front, 6-4.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Schnatter said after the game.
