Pandas Continue Skid, Thanks to Hackett, Dutchmen
|
The New Amsterdam Dutchmen stymied the Montana Pandas, 6-2, at Dutch Master Park. SaQwan Hackett, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for New Amsterdam. Rusty Swanson earned the win for New Amsterdam. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 14. With the win, he raised his record to 5-1. Ron Madison got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Also having an impact was right fielder Cornelius Taitt, who stroked a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth for New Amsterdam. For the game, Taitt was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk.
"I was a little disappointed," said Montana manager Andrew Schupick. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
Montana has now lost 12 straight.
