Ruíz Helps Evergreens Run Win Streak to 4
|
The Portland Evergreens topped the Toledo Stingers, 7-6, with José Ruíz playing a big role. Ruíz was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Evergreens in the win. Ricardo Gómez was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The Portland Evergreens, now 14-6, have been playing some good baseball.
Portland took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Clay Rush hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Evergreens fans to their feet.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Portland Evergreens manager Imran Baig. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
