Chicago beat Capital District, 5-3. The win in part was due to center fielder Cole Thrash, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Yin-fat Foong was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. The win lifts Chicago to a record of 11-9.
With Chicago leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Thrash hit a fastball from Juan Montoya for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 5-2.
