Hotspur Win Thriller, 3-2
|
Austin pitcher Kyle Boddy gave the Hotspur all they could handle, but in the end, Phoenix left Chase Field with a 3-2 win. Boddy allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 8.1 innings. The Phoenix winning streak has now reached 5 games.
The Hotspur were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when first baseman Mario Cruz turned a first pitch curveball from Júlio Rodríguez into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Phoenix a thrilling 3-2 win.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Cruz told the Phoenix Citizen.
